The Odd Couple Production Poster. Glasgow Theatre Company. Bristol, VA

This classic comedy, from beloved playwright Neil Simon, centers on two men. The slovenly Oscar Madison (Martin Robinette), and the neat freak Felix Unger (Chip Zimmerman). The action takes place in the New York City apartment of divorcee Oscar Madison, and if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Felix Unger, fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, has just been separated from his wife, and is looking for a place to stay. Hilarity ensues when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together as The Odd Couple is born. Tony Nominated for Best Play and Winner of Best Author of a Play, 1965.

The Odd Couple is Directed by Martin Robinette. The cast includes Chris Bowman, Justin Shortt Elizabeth Nave, Meghan Carty and Father Chris Hess.

The Normal Heart

The_Normal_Heart_coverThirty-five years ago, a mysterious disease emerged in New York City that began claiming the lives of young gay men at a rapid rate.  Doctors were baffled.  Many individuals – including prominent elected officials – remained silent, while others not only fought to bring awareness to this crisis, but also were in a battle for their own lives.

Larry Kramer’s powerhouse drama “The Normal Heart” chronicles the rise of AIDS in New York City as seen through the eyes of writer/activist Ned Weeks and a group of friends. This November, the Tony Award-winning show will make its Tri-Cities debut.  Produced by Glasgow Theatre Company, the show will be presented at Johnson City Community Theatre Thursday, Nov. 10, Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m.
